‘Clean’ in Blackwell’s Palm

Pact was brokered by international sales banner Works

NEW YORK — Chris Blackwell’s Palm Pictures has acquired North American and Caribbean distribution rights to Olivier Assayas’ latest film “Clean.”

Palm — which previously rolled out Assayas’ “Demonlover” — plans to release “Clean” this year. It stars Maggie Cheung as the wife of a rock star who continues to battle drug addiction after her husband fatally overdoses.

James Dennis, Nick Nolte and Martha Henry also star.

Edouard Weil, Niv Fichman and Xavier Marchand produced the feature that was shot in Canada, France and the U.K.

Cheung won an acting award for the film in Cannes earlier this year, where the film made its world premiere.

The pact was brokered by Palm’s David Koh and Joy Wong of international sales banner the Works.
