Blue Star snags another look

Columbia gets in on first-look deal

Columbia will share Revolution’s first-look production deal with the producing team of William Sherak and Jason Shuman.

Blue Star will take up offices on the Sony lot in Culver City in addition to its Revolution offices in Santa Monica.

Sherak and Shuman served as producers on the 2003 sleeper horror pic “Darkness Falls,” as well as this year’s comedy “Little Black Book,” both for Revolution. They also exec produced Lions Gate’s “Comic Book Villains” and the indie film “Four Dogs Playing Poker.”

Blue Star is currently prepping “Scarecrow” for Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert’s Ghost House Prods. Shingle is also in pre-production on “Mr. Lucky,” a comedy starring Cedric the Entertainer that Brian Levant will direct for Revolution. Eric Rhone is also producing.

Blue Star is also prepping its first direct-to-video feature, “Bachelor Party 2,” the follow-up to Tom Hanks’ 1984 comedy.

For the small screen, Blue Star recently completed production on the television drama “Dawn Anna,” starring Debra Winger, which bows on Lifetime in January.
