Steve Faber and Bob Fisher are teaming with Mosaic Media Group to produce “Breaking Down Kate” by tyro screenwriter Kimberly Karp.
Duo, who wrote New Line’s “The Wedding Crashers,” are making their first foray into producing.
“Kate” centers on a New York investment banker who is forced to move in with her dysfunctional family after losing her job and breaking up with her socialite fiance.
Faber and Fisher knew Karp from their work together on the WB sitcom “For Your Love,” which ran from 1999-2002. The duo provided script notes to Karp and will supervise any future script rewrites.
Faber and Fisher brought the project to the attention of Mosaic execs Gloria Fan and Alex Gartner.
Faber and Fisher are also working on a comedy for Paramount about an ex-president and his memoirs.
