‘747’ takes off at Mobius

Lurie-pened pic investigates Guinness record

Mobius Entertainment has acquired rights to comedy feature “The Man Who Ate the 747” from producer Steven Reuther.

Mobius will co-produce the project with Reuther as well as arrange 100% financing for the pic and handle worldwide sales rights.

Pic was penned by Gwyn Lurie based on a manuscript by Ben Sherwood, with a rewrite by Barra Grant.

“747” centers on a representative from the Guinness Book of Records who visits a small town to record a farmer eating a 747 to demonstrate his love for a local woman. Matters become complicated when the Guinness rep begins to fall in love with her as well.

Pic is tentatively slated for a late June production start. Tracee Stanley Newell will exec produce.
