Things that go bump in the night have been very good to “Grudge” star Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Now, the onetime vampire slayer Buffy is attached to another supernatural thriller, “Revolver,” for Focus Features genre imprint Rogue Pictures.
Asif Kapadia (“The Warrior”) has been inked to helm the pic, which follows a tough, successful saleswoman whose vivid nightmares drive her to investigate the mysterious death of another young woman 25 years earlier.
Adam Sussman penned the script, and Aaron Ryder will produce through his Raygun Prods. shingle. Focus execs Amy Kaufman and Kahli Small will oversee the project.
No start date has been set.
Rogue launched earlier this year with a slate of projects including the current U.K. import “Shaun of the Dead” and upcoming “Seed of Chuckie.” Ryder is also a producer on Rogue’s remake of the Korean horror hit “Phone.”
Focus Intl. is offering “Revolver” at AFM.
Behind Gellar, “The Grudge” has eclipsed industry expectations, opening last month with $40 million in its first weekend, and has gone on to take in $75 million as of Wednesday.
