HOLLYWOOD — “Finding Neverland” helmer Marc Forster explained the connection between his dreams and “Peter Pan” author J.M. Barrie at the post-Variety screening Q&A Nov. 8 at the ArcLight.
“In the beginning no one believes in our dreams,” he said. “I know that from myself: I come from Switzerland; I shouldn’t be here making movies. It’s just getting out there, believing, saying you can do this and your parents thinking you’ve lost it.”
The helmer and pic’s Radha Mitchell both researched Barrie to get a handle on rumors about the author’s pedophilia but downplayed the suggestion. “Michael Jackson calling his ranch Neverland didn’t help,” Forster allowed.
Daily Variety executive editor Timothy M. Gray moderated the sesh.
