Warner Bros. has signed a deal with mobile content distributor Vodafone to develop games, ringtones and other cell phone applications based on the studio’s content.

Deal, being handled by Time Warner interactive division Warner Bros. Online, covers 16 countries including the U.S. It’s the first time Warner has participated in the development of mobile applications, although it has previously licensed its content for use on cell phones.

In addition to existing applications like games, ringtones, screensavers and alerts, the companies plan to collaborate on streaming video content for deployment in the near future.
