Sony release EA game soundtrack

CyberBiz Brief

In a sign of how important videogames are becoming to the music industry for promoting new artists, publisher Electronic Arts is teaming up with Sony Music to launch the soundtrack for EA’s new “NFL Street” game, which launched Jan. 15.

The “NFL Street” soundtrack features original songs from Sony artist the X-ecutioners, as well as licensed tracks from other Sony artists like Korn and Grafh.

Sony is also making musicvideos featuring gameplay footage out of two songs from the soundtrack, and the two companies will work together on a number of cross-promotional efforts, such as a “making of the game” documentary for MTV.
