Snoop Dogg to host Spike TV’s Video Game Awards

Event celebrates vidgame designers, artists

Snoop Dogg has been tapped host of Spike TV’s second annual Video Game Awards, to be telecast live from Santa Monica on Dec. 14.

Awards celebrate the designers, animators and musicians of the past year’s videogames.

Snoop Dogg has appeared as himself in a number of videogames, including “True Crime: Streets of LA” and “NBA Live 2003.” A number of his songs are also featured on video game soundtracks, including “Grand Turismo3: A Spec” and “MTV Music Generators 3: This Is The Remix.”

Last year’s awards were hosted by David Spade.
