DVD Awards announced at Mipcom

132 projects were submitted from 58 companies

CANNES — Nine winners were announced for Mipcom’s DVD Awards by jury chairman Jean-Paul Commin.

Awards, given by DVDA USA and the Intl. Video Federation based in Belgium, in conjunction with Mipcom, reward creativity and innovation in DVD content in seven categories.

Criteria include Web features and interactivity, program content restoration and special features such as navigation and graphic design.

Some 132 projects were submitted from 58 companies in 16 countries.

“The exceptional quality of the works show that DVD has come of age as a medium set apart not only by innovative technology, but also by diversity of editorial content,” Commin said.

Winners of awards in following categories are:

“The Red Dwarf IV” BBC (U.K.)

TV SERIES (original language other than English):
“Bibi Blocksberg” Kiddnix Media (Germany)
