'Weather Underground,' 'My Flesh' secure release

Five-year-old documentary distributor Docurama has acquired DVD distribution rights to five winners of Sundance Film Fest Awards from 2002 and 2003.

The five films are Judith Helfland’s story of her parents’ efforts to put siding on their home, “Blue Vinyl,” winner of the cinematography award and a Grand Jury Prize nominee in 2002; director Jonathan Karsh’s story of a single mother caring for 11 adopted kids, “My Flesh and Blood,” winner of the Audience and Director’s Awards and a Grand Jury nominee in 2003; Rebecca Cammisa and Rob Fruchtman’s profile of a recovering alcoholic and Benedictine sister who runs a halfway house, “Sister Helen,” winner of the Director’s Award in 2002; Sam Green and Bill Siegel’s retrospective of a group of 1970s radicals and criminal fugitives, “The Weather Underground,” another Grand Jury nominee in 2003; and Pamela Yates and Newton Thomas Sigel’s Special Jury Prize winner “When the Mountains Tremble,” the story of a Indian peasant woman in Guatemala.

All five will be released on DVD and VHS throughout this year and early next year.
