HOLLYWOOD — A burgeoning international DVD market has prompted Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment to buttress its regional management structure.

“In so doing, we will be closer to the various markets and will be able to respond quicker to their sales and marketing needs,” said Adrian Alperovich, international exec VP.

Alperovich has promoted Mexico City-based Fernando Amieva to VP, Latin America. Amieva will oversee CTHE’s operating subsid in Brazil as well as a network of third-party distrib partners in the region.

Amieva will remain managing director of CTHE Mexico and keep responsibility for day-to-day operation of that office, which he has run for eight years.

Amieva’s promotion completes the restructuring of Columbia’s home entertainment international division, which led to the promotion last year of London-based Filip Struyven to senior veep and general manager.

Amieva and Struyven report to Alperovich.

“The international home entertainment business continues to evolve and grow — both in terms of revenue potential and complexity,” said Alperovich.
