BERLIN — German cable giant Kabel Deutschland (KDG) sank further into red ink in its fiscal second-quarter due to writedowns related to its failed attempt to takeover three regional cablers.

Company’s fiscal half-year (ending Sept. 30) net loss deepened by nearly EUR 65 million ($84 million) to $118 million. Revenues remained virtually unchanged at $682 million.
