Court TV sets syndie subsid

Service offers coverage of local trials

Court TV has created a division called the Legal News Service to syndicate trial analysis and wrap-ups of the day’s court coverage to TV stations and cable-news channels.

Buyers of the service will pay a subscription fee to get the daily package, which kicks off July 12. Service gets access to all of Court TV on-air talent plus a dedicated staff of full-time reporters, producers and technicians.

Service will also offer customized coverage, e.g., by covering a local trial that wouldn’t make the cut on Court TV’s national service.

Editorial chief of the Legal News Service is Jim Lyons, VP of news for Court TV.
