BERLIN — A strong performance by Germany’s Constantin Film helped boost the bottom line at parent group Highlight Communications in the first nine months of the year.
The Swiss-German media company on Thursday posted a 26% increase in net profit to CHF 13.5 million ($11.6 million). Revenue went from $150 million last year to $322 million.
Company said its 58% stake in Constantin, which has been fully consolidated since July 2003, made a key contribution to company growth.
Constantin has enjoyed a very good year thanks to strong performances from Adolf Hitler drama “Downfall” and sci-fi comedy “Dreamship Surprise — Period 1.”
Constantin posted third-quarter revenue of $227 million with net profit up to $7.6 million after a $7.5 million loss last year.
Highlight also attributed its buoyant results to strong figures from its Sports and Event Marketing division.
Highlight execs said they expected the company to continue its profitable growth in the fourth quarter, predicting full-year revenues of some $405 million.
