Naming names

Letter to the editor

To the editor:

RE: “Sinclair Boycotts Nightline Seg” (Daily Variety, April 30) I find it quite hypocritical for Conservative-minded Sinclair Broadcasting to call “Nightline” biased for reading the names of those who lost their lives in the Iraq war thus far. By censoring the ABC program aren’t they themselves taking their own politically biased stance? If ABC’s program is a liberally motivated effort to “undermine the efforts of the United States in Iraq” then wouldn’t pulling the show be a Conservative effort to undermine the debate about the war in Iraq? You can’t condem a political statement by making political statments of your own and expect the public not to see right through them. Sinclair Broadcasting is committing biased, politically-motivated censorship that has no place in the legitimate News Media world.
