Lessons remembered

Letter to the editor

To the editor:

Congratulations to Daily Variety and David Brown for his “Lessons from a life in showbiz” (March 31).

Half a century in the movie world didn’t change David a bit. I was at 20th Century Fox when he arrived in 1952 and still there when he left a decade later. He was always just a nice gentleman and he did always return phone calls. One, I remember, to me, saying “thanks, but sorry, no thanks” just before boarding a plane at the airport.

This good guy is still finishing first…
