Univision, Plural sign deal for series

13 episodes of skein ordered

MADRID — U.S. Spanish-lingo broadcaster Univision has inked with Spain’s Plural Ent., the film/TV prod arm of Prisa, to air drama series “Al filo de la ley” in its next season’s lineup.

Univision entertainment prexy Mario Rodriguez described “Al filo” as an attractive primetime proposition during the presentation of Univision’s sked for the new season at in New York last week.

“Al filo de la ley” mixes the personal and professional lives of Hispanic attorneys at an office in Los Angeles.

Univision has commissioned a minimum 13 episodes.

“The idea is to continue to work with Univision and broaden our relationship,” said Luis Fernandez, managing director of Plural Ent.

Operating out of offices in Miami and Madrid, Plural is developing another drama series,”La calle del rutmo,” which turns on life at a record label. In film, Plural has sealed a pic prod pact with Televisa Cine, the film arm of Mexican TV colossus Televisa, which has yielded two B.O. hits in Mexico, “La habitacion azul,” and “El tigre de Santa Julia.”
