PARIS — TF1, France’s leading terrestrial broadcaster, on Monday posted net profits up 4.2% to e59.6 million ($70.5 million) for the first quarter of 2003.
Consolidated revs were stable at $804 million. Figure takes into account the increase from 50% to 66% in TF1’s stake in the satellite platform TPS.
Core ad revenues for the first quarter grew a slim 0.6% to $474.4 million. On the back of the shorter-than-expected war in Iraq and a slight advertising uptick in April and May, the Gallic group predicted its net advertising revs would grow 1%-3% for the full year, and that consolidated revs could rise 4%.
