Robert Pini has joined Spike TV as VP of communications.
As Spike TV begins repositioning itself as a network for men — it just changed it name from TNN — Pini will head up its communications team and serve as its primary spokesman.
A publicity veteran, Pini joins from Conde Nast Publications. He will report to Dan Martinsen, senior VP of corporate communications for Nickelodeon, TV Land and Spike.
At Conde Nast, Pini was in charge media relation strategies for Lucky and Wired magazines. He also oversaw publicity initiatives for Architectural Digest, Gourmet, and Glamour, the latter during a previous stint at CondeNast.
In TV, Pini managed media relations for “Good Morning America,” “ABC Prime Time Live” and specials for the Alphabet’s news division. He has also held positions at Group W Satellite Communications and at Bender, Goldman & Helper.
