Hong Kong-based Phoenix Television will reach the U.S. using telecommunications monolith China Netcom Corp. (China Netcom) to transmit its signal, Phoenix confirmed Tuesday.

Phoenix will transmit content from its Phoenix Chinese Channel to its North American sister channel, which is broadcast via DirecTV and EchoStar. News Corp. holds a 40% stake in the Mandarin-lingo broadcaster.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
