LONDON — Former Universal and Polygram exec Graeme Mason has been appointed head of media projects at 4 Ventures, the commercial arm of Brit TV web Channel 4.
In this newly created post, Mason will work with C4’s commissioning editors to identify program ideas that can be exploited across media platforms. The model is “Big Brother,” the C4 reality series that came with an array of related interactive TV, Internet and mobile telephony services.
Mason has been a consultant to C4 since he ankled as the London-based president of acquisitions for Universal Pictures. He advised on the closure of the old FilmFour and the transition to the new, smaller inhouse film production unit, also called FilmFour.
C4 has also promoted Anmar Kawash to managing director of 4 Ventures. Kawash was chief operating officer of 4 Ventures and managing director of its services division. He replaces Rob Woodward, who has been promoted to C4’s commercial director.
