PBS has greenlit kiddie show “Postcards From Buster” for its fall 2004 slate.
Skein will follow Buster, from Emmy-winning animated series “Arthur,” on adventures across North America. Stories will be told in animated and live-action format via the postcards, which will be footage from different locations shot with a handheld digital camera.
“Putting Buster on the road and immersing him in real-life settings via the live-action ‘postcards’ is a perfect vehicle to teach children about the rich and complex cultural life that exists across America,” said Carol Greenwald, exec producer of pubcaster WGBH Boston.
A sneak look at “Postcards” will be featured this fall on “Arthur.”
Both series are co-productions of WGBH, Cinar Corp. and Marc Brown Studios. Brown is the author of the children’s book upon which the characters are based.
“Arthur” is in its eighth season on PBS.
