HOLLYWOOD — NBC’s unscripted dating show “For Love or Money” bowed to sturdy but unspectacular ratings Monday, placing second to repeats on CBS.
“Love,” the Peacock’s version of shows like ABC’s “The Bachelor” and Fox’s “Joe Millionaire,” averaged a 4.8/12 in adults 18-49 and 10.2 million viewers overall from 9 to 11 p.m. with its special two-hour premiere, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.
From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Love” grew by 36% in 18-49 (5.3/14 vs. 3.9/10). Show grabbed its best demo score among women 18-34 (6.8/18).
While these are solid premiere numbers, NBC may have hoped for a bit more opposite hockey on ABC and repeats on the other broadcast nets.
The heavily promoted “Love” (4.8/12) ran second to CBS from 9 to 11 (5.0/13), although it pulled ahead of “CSI: Miami” in the final hour. The Eye led convincingly in total viewers.
Beginning next week, “For Love or Money” airs at 9, followed by the return of another unscripted dating show, “Meet My Folks.”
