HOLLYWOOD — Lifetime TV has greenlit the original telepic “Sex and the Single Mom,” toplining Gail O’Grady (“American Dreams”) and Grant Show (“Six Feet Under”).
Lensing began June 2 in Toronto.
Project reteams exec producer Andrea Baynes and director Don McBrearty, who previously worked on “The Interrogation of Michael Crowe” together for Court TV. Alexander Enright will also exec produce.
Coming-of-age pic, written by Judith Paige Mitchell (“Young at Heart”), follows 15-year old Sara (Danielle Panabaker) as she contends with the pregnancy of her divorced mother (O’Grady) following a brief affair with an out-of-town doctor (Show).
O’Grady, best known for her work in “NYPD Blue,” will next appear in the ABC Family made-for “Lucky Seven” with Patrick Dempsey.
Former “Melrose Place” regular Show recently starred in the Sci Fi Channel telepic “Encrypt.”
