Euros to bond, bicker in TF1 reality series

Gallic broadcaster TF1 is doing its bit to restore harmony among divided European nations with its new reality format.

Beginning April 26, the Endemol-produced show, a kind of “Big Brother” sans frontieres, will train its cameras on a houseful of young people of various Euro nationalities as they lurch from one cultural misunderstanding to the next. The show has drawn a pool of competitors from Britain, Spain, Italy and Denmark, among others, in hopes of duplicating the success of rival web M6’s “Loft Story,” which has been a hit since its 2001 launch.

Auds can only hope the new show will have more punch than its insipid name — “Nice People” — suggests.
