“Golden Girls: Their Greatest Memories” proved memorable for Lifetime.
Monday reunion show averaged 4.17 million viewers and became the top-rated special in the net’s 19-year history in all female demos. It ranked fourth in its 8-9:30 p.m. timeslot — behind CBS, NBC and Fox — in both total viewers and women 25-54 (1.9/6).
Reunion featured interviews with stars Bea Arthur, Betty White and Rue McClanahan.
Previously, the June 2001’s “Weddings of a Lifetime: Million Dollar Weddings” was the highest-rated spec for the net with 2.4 million viewers.
“Greatest Memories” was the centerpiece of net’s “Golden Girls” event, which ran from 6 to midnight. Block included reunion, series pilot and series finale, each averaging more than 3 million viewers. In all, net said nearly 15 million people tuned in at some point.
On July 15, Lifetime will air “The Designing Women Reunion” with stars Dixie Carter, Delta Burke, Annie Potts, Jean Smart and Meshach Taylor.
