RIO DE JANEIRO — Action-adventure feevee AXN is prepping a docu series on Latin America’s largest off-road rally, the Brazilian Rally dos Sertoes.
AXN parent Sony Pictures Intl. Television is coproducing the five 30-minute episodes with local prodcos Radar and Terra Sul. The 2,360-mile rally began July 23 in Goiania in central Brazil and ends in Sao Luiz, on the country’s northern coasts, on Sept. 2.
The docu will air in September in Brazil and on AXN’s Spanish-lingo Latin America channel. AXN also plans to air the series in Spain and Portugal
Other AXN original productions in Latin America includes the “Fun Race 4×4,” a competition in Venezuela using Toyota 4X4 vehicles and global positioning system technology. The first part of the race was held in July, the second part will be held in September with the final round in mid-November. AXN Latin America expects to broadcast its coverage throughout the region in early 2004.
