Corus adds to drama fund

World Brief

Corus Entertainment is helping the struggling local TV drama industry by adding C$500,000 ($367,000) to its script development fund, which it is renaming “Made With Pay.”

The annual $1.1 million fund, created as a condition of Corus’ license, will continue until 2008, when the license expires.

“This is an important time to champion Canadian arts, culture and talent,” said Andrew Eddy, VP and general manager of Corus’ specialty channel Movie Central. “Through this development fund, we hope to boost the quality and amount of home-grown drama on television.”
