CBS tops Monday

Morning Ratings Flash - Rick Kissell

Powered by “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “CSI: Miami,” CBS has notched another Monday victory in key demos, according to preliminary nationals from Nielsen.

On the second Monday of the May sweep, “Raymond” was the top-rated program (6.2/16 in adults 18-49, 19 million viewers overall), while “CSI: Miami” (5.8/14 in adults 18-49, 14.8 million viewers overall) was the evening’s No. 2 show in 18-49, topping the season finales of NBC’s “Crossing Jordan” (3.8/10 in adults 18-49, 9.8 million viewers overall) and ABC’s “The Practice” (3.6/9 in adults 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall).

CBS also received another solid perf at 9:30 from “Still Standing” (5.3/13 in adults 18-49, 15.5 million viewers overall), which continues to retain larger chunks of its 18-49 “Raymond” lead-in than “Becker” a year ago.

At NBC, a two-hour “Fear Factor” won its 8-10 block in adults 18-49 (5.3/14) although these numbers are nothing special for the reality series, which was hot prior to the advent of daylight-saving time. At 10, “Crossing Jordan” placed second.

ABC was led by two hours of “The Practice,” which netted a 3.2/8 in adults 18-49 at 9 and a 3.6/9 at 10 – its best score since moving to Mondays three months ago.

Fox’s reality skein “Mr. Personality” (3.0/7 in adults 18-49) fell about 20% week-to-week and placed fourth. From 8 to 9, “Boston Public” (3.3/9 in adults 18-49, 7.9 million viewers overall) picked it up a bit, placing third.

Preliminary 18-49 averages for the night: CBS, 5.2/13; NBC, 4.8/12; ABC, 3.2/8; Fox, 3.1/8.

In total viewers: CBS led with 14.8 million.
