HOLLYWOOD — The Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has tapped Bruno Wu, CEO of Sun Media China and director of the Academy board, as chairman of the iEMMYs Festival for two years, renewable.
Bruce Paisner, president of Hearst Entertainment and the chairman of Intl. TV Academy, has been the festival chairman since its inception in 1999.
The 5th iEMMY Festival will take place at the Sofitel Hotel New York on Nov. 23.
The 31st Intl. Emmy Awards Gala will take place Nov. 24, also in New York City, when it will honor BBC director general Greg Dyke with the Directorate Award and HBO with the Founders Award for its original programming.
During the iEMMY fest, execs, producers and directors participate in discussions and screenings about the state and future of the global programming industry.
The Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, a division of the National Television Academy, is the largest organization of global broadcasters, with representatives from over 50 countries on its board.
