‘Sinbad’ sets sail

Celebs board preem of animated anti-hero hero

Though Sinbad himself, Brad Pitt, missed the boat at Tuesday night’s Gotham launch for the DreamWorks tooner, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer, Joseph Fiennes and Dennis Haysbert represented a slate of actors that’s rather beauteous considering none appears onscreen.

DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg called Sinbad the anti-hero hero. “He’s the bad boy who’s doing all the wrong things, until ultimately he comes through in the end,” he said.

Pfeiffer, who like Zeta-Jones left the kids and hubby at home to sail solo through preem festivities, said her role “was actually a little reminiscent of Catwoman.” Thesp, who said she re-recorded the role four times before getting it right, called such nasty roles “very liberating.”

Crowd at the Upper East Side’s Beekman Theater included Joe Pantoliano and daughter Cathy Moriarty with children, plus Mercedes Ruehl, Vincent Pastore and John McEnroe.
