Red carpet snappers

Celebs take photos, post pics on Net for charity

Paparazzi beware: celebs have been turning the lens on themselves on the red carpet. Their weapon of choice tends to be digital — the instant gratification Polaroid for the new millennium — but a cheapo disposal will do, as witnessed by Steve Schirripa of “The Sopranos” at the SAG awards in March. Sensing the promo op behind the trend, AOL Time Warner supplied digital cameras with familiar corporate logo to Oscar contenders the week leading up to the kudocast, then reprised the promo for the “Matrix Reloaded” preem, doling out similar cameras to the pic’s femme stars, posting their snaps on the Internet service as part of a charity fundraiser.
