At the semiannual TV Critics Assn. Press tour, bleary-eyed scribes couldn’t stop partying if they wanted to.
CBS chairman/CEO Leslie Moonves runs two networks, so he did double duty last week, holding court at UPN’s laid-back bash at Club One Seven on July 22 and at the Eye’s July 20 throwdown at Lucky Strikes Lanes.
UPN’s event featured entertainment prexy Dawn Ostroff with stars including Flex, Tracee Ellis Ross and Dan Cortese, plus producers such as Yvette Lee Bowser. The Eye’s soiree saw “CSI” creator Anthony Zuiker stylin’ in his black jumpsuit and Charlie Sheen promoting his new Monday laffer “Two and a Half Men.”
And on July 18, Fox lived up to its rep for celebratory creativity by transforming a portion of the Pacific Design Center into Club Splash, where a giant wall of water hovered over a bar made completely of ice. Stars such as Eliza Dushku and Jason Bateman mingled with execs such as 20th Century Fox TV prexy Gary Newman and his wife, power lawyer Jeanne Newman.
NBC closed down the tour July 25 with a star-studded casino night at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, official site of the TCA tour. Entertainment prexy Jeff Zucker mingled with a slew of his fall bets, including cast members from new drama “Las Vegas.”
