Jeanette Beaudine, a member of Screen Extras Guild and longtime stand-in for actress Helen Hayes, died Monday June 23 from complications of emphysema at the Motion Picture Hospital in Woodland Hills, Calif. She was 82.
Before coming to Los Angeles, she and her husband Al owned Sans Souci, a celebrity-populated vacation haven of resort, bar and restaurant on Harsen’s Island, Mich. Encouraged by producer Jack Rose, the Beaudoins moved to Hollywood in 1957, joined SEG and began a 30-year career of extra, atmosphere and stand-in work. Jean worked at the major studios on such movies as “Hello, Dolly” and the TV show “Snoop Sisters.” She retired in the late 1980s. Her husband of 44 years died in 2000.
Interment services will be held 11 a.m. Monday June 30 cryptside at Forest Lawn/Hollywood Hills, Court of Remembrance.
