Edwin Perlstein, high-profile longtime entertainment lawyer, died at the Encino-Tarzana Medical Center Saturday July 12 of complications from multiple myeloma complications. He was 76.
He served as attorney for the William Morris Agency 1951-58; director of business affairs for Desilu Prods., 1963-67; VP of MCA Universal 1967-69; VP of Rastar Prods. 1969-1972; and VP for Lucille Ball Prods. 1972-73.
He was a partner in the Rudin & Perlstein law firm and was sole practice 1982 to present. His impressive list of clients included Frank Sinatra, Groucho Marx, Lucille Ball, Cher, Liza Minnelli and many more.
Bronx native graduated from City College of New York and Brooklyn Law School and became a member of the New York State Bar in 1953, later joining the California State Bar in 1973. He had also been an Army sergeant during WWII and served in Italy.
Perlstein is survived by his wife of almost 55 years Joyce; two children; a brother; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. today at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, 6150 Mount Sinai Drive, Simi Valley, CA 93063
