Born in Rome, he began his career in Hollywood in 1990 as an apprentice editor. He followed with a four-year stint as assistant to the head of production at Cinergi Pictures. He resumed his post work on “Dragonheart: A New Beginning” as post-production supervisor as well as unit photographer.
In an effort to expand his knowledge and experience into physical production, he worked as an assistant to the producer, aunt Raffaella De Laurentiis, on “Black Dog” and as assistant production manager on the miniseries “Uprising.” He went on to associate produce various projects; he was most recently associate producer of visual f/x on “The World of Tomorrow.”
He is survived by his wife, Talley; two sisters, Giada De Laurentiis, host of the Food Network’s “Everyday Italian,” and Eloisa De Laurentiis, a makeup artist; brother Igor De Laurentiis, an actor; parents Veronica De Laurentiis, an actress, and Ivan Kavalsky, a producer; four aunts; and grandfather Dino.
