Showtime orders second ‘BS’ season

Latenight expose skein 'Penn & Teller' renewed

Showtime has renewed “Penn & Teller: Bullshit!” for a second season.

Cabler has ordered 13 additional half hours of the latenight expose skein from the Wolper Organization (“The Mists of Avalon”).

New segs are set to bow next spring. A season-one DVD also is expected to drop during first-quarter 2004.

Production on “Penn & Teller” begins this month. Mark Wolper and Star Price exec produce.

Series hosted by the magician-comedians centers on newsmag-style exposes that skewer tabloid topics including alien abductions, TV psychics and second-hand smoke.

“Penn & Teller” premiered in January and averaged 640,000 viewers in its rookie season.

Pair last teamed with Showtime in 1987 for the original pic “Penn & Teller’s Invisible Thread.”

Duo also received two Emmys for the PBS special “Penn & Teller Go Public” in 1985 and last appeared in the specials “Penn & Teller’s Sin City Spectacular” for FX and “Penn & Teller’s Home Invasion” for ABC.
