Warner Indy taps Kramer as exec VP

Legal eagle to o'see biz matters, act as co. liaison

Veteran entertainment attorney and business affairs executive Andrew Kramer will join Warner Independent Pictures as exec VP of business affairs and operations.

Announcement was made Friday by Mark Gill, prexy of Warner Independent Pictures, and is effective Sept. 2.

Kramer will be responsible for handling all business and legal matters related to Warner Independent Pictures’ film slate, as well as the company’s internal operations and relationships with other Warner Bros. Entertainment divisions. Kramer is currently exec VP of Phoenix Pictures, where he serves in a similar capacity.

Warner Independent Pictures prexy Mark Gill praised Kramer for defying “the maddening norm of Hollywood business affairs by working fast,” while Jeff Robinov, prexy of production at Warner Bros. Pictures, singled out his facility with “starting up and running the operational side of a lean independent film company.”

Prior to his tenure at Phoenix, Kramer was chief operating officer of the Canton Co. He is also a former exec VP at Franchise Pictures, where he oversaw all of the company’s business and legal affairs for its productions and was instrumental in forming Franchise’s domestic distribution arrangement with Warner Bros.
