Universal Studios Home Video has hired Tom Emrey, formerly finance veep for Nestle USA’s pet food business, as its chief financial officer.
Announcing the appointment, U homevideo prexy Craig Kornblau said, “Tom comes to us with a wealth of experience in consumer packaged goods and has worked closely with all disciplines of the business, from marketing to manufacturing, with a strong emphasis on retail.”
Emrey will report to Kornblau and Bill Sutman, chief financial officer of the Universal Pictures Group.
In his six years at Nestle, Emrey was credited for engineering the acquisition of the Ralston Purina Co., which made Nestle the globe’s largest pet food producer.
Before that, Emrey was corporate controller at Silgan Containers, manufacturer of metal food containers and plastic containers. During Emrey’s five years on the job, Silgan’s annual sales grew from $400 million to over $1 billion.
Emrey also did stints in finance at Lockheed Advanced Development Co. and Arthur Young and Co. (now known as Ernst & Young).
