Thorn to prime NBC drama post

Veep to o'see new projects, current series

NBC has tapped USA Network executive Michael Thorn VP, primetime series.

Thorn, who served as veep of series development and programming at USA, will shepherd new drama projects for the studio while overseeing all current Peacock dramas, including “Boomtown” and “American Dreams.”

“Michael was the clear and superior choice for the job,” said NBC Studios exec veepee Angela Bromstad. “His reputation with people who have worked with him, from the writers to the agents, is stellar.” Prior to his VP stint at USA, Thorn served from 2000-2002 as director of series development for the cabler, collaborating on such projects as “Monk,” “Peacemakers,” “Touching Evil” and “The Huntress.”
