Sony takes money unit worldwide

Mandel, Burton, Hall upped; to report to new head Lomis

Sony Pictures Releasing is beefing up its financial services division, extending the operation globally and naming Eileen Lomis as topper, according to Jeff Blake, Sony Pictures Entertainment vice chairman.

Three others also get promotions as Sony moves to centralize financial oversight with exhibs worldwide.

“As we continue to consolidate our marketing and distribution operation under one roof, it is only logical to enact and enforce collections policies and procedures that are consistent throughout the world,” Blake said. “No one is more ready for the challenge of leading our worldwide financial services division than Eileen Lomis, and she has earned my trust and respect after many years of dedicated service.”

Lomis, who had been senior VP of financial administration overseeing domestic theatrical finance, now becomes senior VP, worldwide theatrical financial administration, for Columbia TriStar Motion Pictures Group. She will oversee a worldwide group monitoring theatrical collections, setting credit-extension policies and standardizing reporting and operations procedures worldwide.
