D.C. insiders spoof Bond series for charity

WASHINGTON — Washington got a chance to spoof Hollywood for a change at a community outreach charity event Monday for D.C.’s Arena Stage. Politicos teamed up with local celebs for “Dr. Thunderfinger,” a James Bond satire.

Former Sen. Fred Thompson was among the politicos sharing the stage with journos David Broder and Nina Totenberg.

Ex-Iowa Rep. Fred Grandy (R-Iowa), the former “Love Boat” star, played James Blond, aka Triple-O Seventy, while Kitty Kelley portrayed Kitty Galore, who captures the Washington press corps in a bid for world domination through mismanagement of the federal budget.
