Vet Hollywood marketing exec Blaise Noto, a former exec VP at Paramount and Sony, has opened a Maui-based company specializing in strategies for entertainment marketing, publicity and special events.

Blaise Noto & Associates will focus on the Hawaiian Islands and the Pacific Rim. It will also rep artists and performers for management and personal public relations.

“After working for 27 years in the Hollywood studio system, I wanted new and rewarding challenges,” said Noto, who ankled Columbia Pictures as exec VP of publicity, promotion and field operations. “It’s an exciting time in Hawaii for entertainment.”

Noto joined Sony in April 2000 after 10 years in a similar post at Paramount Pictures. He worked on Sony’s campaigns for “Spider-Man” and “Charlie’s Angels.” While at Par, he formulated and executed campaigns for numerous pics, including “Titanic,” “Mission: Impossible” and its sequel, “The Truman Show,” “Face/Off,” “Braveheart” and “Forrest Gump.”

Noto was VP of marketing for Vestron Pictures in the late 1980s and, before that, veepee of publicity and promotion for the De Laurentiis Entertainment Group. He also worked in PR at Orion Pictures, Warner Bros. and United Artists.
