“De-lovely,” MGM’s musical biopic about Cole Porter, has further beefed up its chorus, adding Natalie Cole, Mick Hucknall, Lara Fabian and Mario Frangoulis to the cast of notables singing Porter hits in production numbers during the film.
Pic stars Kevin Kline as the beloved but troubled songsmith, with Ashley Judd as his long-suffering wife. Pic also features Jonathan Pryce; Irwin Winkler directs from a script by Jay Cocks. Winkler, Rob Cowan and Charles Winkler produce, with Simon Channing Williams and Gail Egan exec producing.
R&B diva Cole will sing “Every Time We Say Goodbye,” and Hucknall, lead singer of rock band Simply Red, will sing “I Love You.” Frangoulis, a Greek tenor, joins French singer Fabian in a duet of “So in Love.”
The Lion had previously announced that Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Diana Krall, Alanis Morissette, Robbie Williams and Vivian Green would be among those singing in the film.
