Mun2’s ‘Roof’ tilts to West

Show covers sports, fashion, music, politics

MIAMI — Mun2 Television, the bilingual cable channel now part of NBC Cable Networks, has launched “Off the Roof,” a nightly newsmag on West Coast culture.

“As a national cable network, our goal is to make sure that our audience is reflected in our programming; young bilingual Latinos from the West Coast are very seldom represented in television, and we felt it was necessary to create something specifically for them,” said programming VP Yolanda Foster.

Produced out of L.A. and hosted by Veronica Jacuinde and Janie Terrazas, “Off the Roof” airs live weeknights at 10. It covers sports, fashion and music and features politics, culture and lifestyle segments, all through the prism of the West Coast.

Show is an original co-production of Mun2 and Miami-based Perfect Image, which already produces several shows for the channel including “The Roof,” “Ritmo y Sabor” and “Planeta Rock.”

Launched in 2001, Mun2 is a division of Telemundo, now a subsid of NBC.
