HOLLYWOOD — Julie Spielberg, a veteran entertainment attorney and onetime legal veep at Universal, has been named senior VP legal affairs at MGM.
Most recently, Spielberg was house counsel and general manager at the RW Ranch conference center in Los Angeles. She worked at U from 1989-1999.
Prior to joining U, Spielberg was an attorney for law firm Denton, Hall, Burgin & Warrens, with clients including PolyGram, Credit Lyonnais Bank, Pearson, Mel Gibson, Paul Hogan and Woody Allen. She began her career as an attorney at the firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
At MGM, Spielberg will be involved with all aspects of business and legal affairs related to Lion’s film production, talent agreements and other areas of theatrical operations. She will report to Jonathan Bader, exec VP theatrical business affairs.
