MIAMI — The latest Latin American feevee to gain carriage in the U.S., lifestyle channel Casa Club TV, launched Monday on the DirecTV Para Todos package.
Deal ups Casa Club’s reach to 6 million homes throughout the Americas.
Channel features cooking, interior design, architecture and other lifestyle programming. Up to now, it had been available in 18 countries in Latin America only.
“Expanding the Casa Club TV signal into the U.S. Hispanic market is a significant milestone for the channel,” said prexy-CEO Gustavo Pupo-Mayo of programmer MGM Networks Latin America, the joint venture of MGM Networks and UnitedGlobalCom. MGM Networks also has two movie nets in Latin America.
Launched in October 1999, the DirecTV Para Todos service can include as many as 45 Spanish-lingo channels (including alternate Spanish audio for English-lingo channels) and 210 English-language channels.
