Ed Limato has signed a five-year deal to remain with Intl. Creative Management.
By signing the deal with Limato, ICM keeps its hold on a slew of top-flight talent. Limato’s list includes Mel Gibson, Denzel Washington, Steve Martin, Richard Gere, Matthew McConaughey, Michelle Pfeiffer, Paul Walker and Winona Ryder.
ICM’s announcement last Friday served as a happy ending to what was a tough week for the tenpercentary.
After ICM confirmed last Monday that agent Tracy Brennan had exited for CAA, rumors flew that Limato could follow suit, or was at least considering the possibility.
Limato told Daily Variety that while he received inquiries from other agencies, he never took any meetings.
“Ed is the best talent agent working today,” aid Jeffrey Berg, ICM chairman and CEO. “His long-term relationships with clients speak for themselves. His commitment to artists is legendary. We’re thrilled that he is continuing with us.”
“I love this company,” said Limato, who began his career in ICM’s mailroom 25 years ago. “I love the agents who work here, and I love their tenacity and fierce loyalty to our clients and to each other. I look forward to working with everyone here well into the future.”
ICM has seen other spots of good news over the last few months, the most recent being the repping of writer-director Brian Helgeland. Other additions to the roster include Ronald Harwood, who won an Oscar for his adaptation of “The Pianist” and director Jonathan Demme.
