Angels in America

Tony Kushner’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which won the play Tony in 1993, has been fashioned into a miniseries by director Mike Nichols; Kushner wrote the adaptation. The all-star cast includes Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Emma Thompson, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeffrey Wright and James Cromwell.

German helmer Katja von Garnier’s suffragist drama, in which defiant young women campaign for enfranchisement, features a stellar cast including Hilary Swank, Frances O’Connor, Molly Parker, Julia Ormond, Patrick Dempsey and Anjelica Huston.
